Since 1990, P.M Dawn has been redefining and challenging musical boundaries. Their haunting, whimsical, alto voices behind the smash debut single “Set Adrift On Memory Bliss” influenced everything from this era’s boy bands to Puffy’s Mase-Notorious B.I.G./Sting apocalyptic new hip hop swing. "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss" hit #1 the week of November 30, 1991, and holds the distinction of being the first #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart following the introduction of Nielsen SoundScan to the chart. The song also reached #3 in the United Kingdom. "Paper Doll", which was one of the early singles Island released in the United Kingdom, was released in the US as a follow-up to "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss", and peaked at #28 in early 1992 P.M. Dawn’s debut album Of the Heart, Of the Soul and Of the Cross sold millions of records worldwide and launched the New Jersey duo’s roller coaster ride of fame.
While in Europe, PM Dawn wrote one of the most beautiful ballads in history, “I’d Die Without You.” The loneliness of the vocal paired with the ethereal, multi-layered melodies of the track seemed to give regret a tangible quality that appealed to superstars like Eddie Murphy and Babyface. The song’s success was their insurance against the sophomore jinx. P.M. Dawn’s second album went gold in the U.S and the Boomerang soundtrack went double platinum. “Looking through Patient Eyes” was another single off this album that achieved top 10 status in the U.S., Hitting #1 in Canada and many other places around the world. In between follow-up albums and perfecting their signature style, P.M. Dawn worked with everyone from Elton John, to the Backstreet Boys, George Michael and White Zombie.
PM Dawn currently tours the world, featuring original member Doc G and vocalist Yomond, labeled as one of the most versatile singers in the business. Over the past few years Yomond has developed and honed his already unique blend of contemporary R&B/Pop and Dance. PM Dawn takes the audience on a fluid, energizing journey from banging dance hits and hard-hitting funk to deep and soulful melodies. They continue to leave audiences with a lasting experience that transcends the music.
