Augustus Cho
Augustus Cho is a man for all seasons: an actor who has experienced the broad spectrum of the film industry from being cast in a #1 Hollywood blockbuster movie in the world to Indy film to student production and in between.
He’s been cast to play various characters in movies including a “BBC” TV reporter in a comedy where BBC stands for “British Born Chinese” instead of the British Broadcasting Corporation; in another he’s a Japanese immigrant family man making a new life in a small South Carolina town exemplifying a quintessential heartwarming story of faith and destiny; a fighter jet pilot in another sci-fi; the “North Korean Leader” in the film “G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation” opposite to Johnathan Pryce, who played the role of the U.S. President.
In addition, Augustus Cho has worked in TV and cable series such as “Eastbound and Down” as a South Korean KIA automobile businessman in episode with Will Ferrell and Danny McBride. He can also be seen in the “Investigation Discovery” series as pastor in one story line and father to a daughter who plan to kill her parents in another.
Augustus is also a prolific writer having authored 7 books (and continues to write) that are available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble’s online for those who enjoy reading compelling human-interest stories.
In addition to authorship, he founded and instructed an exclusive “By Invitation Only” Tae Kwon Do school where traditional philosophy and orthodox discipline were taught and instilled thereby students mastering the true purpose and the meaning of the art.
He has also taught for a Department of Defense contracted college educating our men and women of the U.S. armed forces stationed in the Pacific Rim.
Augustus arrived in the United States (Washington, D.C.) from South Korea on July 13th of 1968 where his American odyssey commenced at the Linton Hall Military School...life went on from there.
He has subsequently lived in the states of CA, NY, NJ, PA, DE, VA and NC during his life in the United States. From 2005 to 2015, he resided in the Town of Chapel Hill, N.C. There, Augustus served as the Chair of the Town’s Transportation Board for a number of years as well as a Commissioner on the Community Design Commission. Due to his experience and extensive knowledge of the town, he became involved in the political process resulting in his eventual mayoral candidacy.
Augustus life ethos is to improve society when and wherever he can. In that respect, he has fund raised for various organizations such as for veterans, special Olympics, and others that endeavor to better human existence...and will continue to do so when opportunities arise.
Augustus is a graduate of the Westminster Theological Seminary receiving his Magistrate Divinities (M. Div) degree, having studied more Biblical Hebrew and Greek than thought possible. Prior to graduate studies, his Atrium Baccalaureus (BA) was attained from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, where he majored in Economics.
He has recently produced and directed the “Beach Music Band Chronicle: North Tower Band” music series (Youtube), highlighting various bands that focus on the genre known in the southeastern region of the United States as “Beach Music”.
